What Is SlideShare?

SlideShare is a site for sharing slide decks. LinkedIn bought it in 2012 and sold it to Scribd in 2020. It holds years of conference talks, lectures, marketing decks and training slides, many from the 2010s that aren't online anywhere else.

How to Search SlideShare

  1. Type the topic plus a word like presentation or deck.
  2. Add a conference or company name to find a specific talk.
  3. Use the address field to match a speaker's username, which appears in the link.
  4. Compare Google and Bing for older decks.

Other Places to Find Slides

Many decks were never uploaded to SlideShare. PowerPoint search finds PPT and PPTX files across the web, Google Slides search covers public Google Slides, and university lecture slides turn up on .edu search.

Questions

Can I download presentations from SlideShare?

Some decks can be downloaded, depending on the uploader's settings. Downloading usually needs a free Scribd account.

Is SlideShare still active?

Yes. SlideShare is owned by Scribd and still hosts and accepts uploads.

Why search SlideShare through Google?

Google and Bing have indexed years of SlideShare decks and rank them by how often they're linked, which often finds well-known talks faster than SlideShare's own search.
