About DocJax
DocJax launched in 2009 as a document search engine, and it is one again, starting with IRS forms.
Every current IRS form, instruction booklet and publication is searchable here by number or by name. So is the IRS prior-year archive: past versions of each form, some going back to the 1800s, including forms the IRS no longer issues. The most used forms have their own page. Each one explains in plain English who files the form, when it is due and where it goes, and lets you type into the official PDF and download the filled file.
Where the information comes from
Form files, revision dates and past versions come from the IRS forms listings. The guides are written from each form's own instructions, and every page links to the IRS source it was written from. When the IRS posts a new revision, the page updates to the new file.
Your information stays with you
The filler runs in your browser. What you type into a form is never sent to DocJax or stored anywhere. See the privacy page.
Not a government site
DocJax is independent and is not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency. The guides explain what the forms say. They are not tax advice.
