BROOK HAVEN NATIONAL LABORATORY ASSOCIATED UNIVERSITIES, INC o TEL. AREA COOE S16 YAPHANK 4-6262 I am only sorry the survey went of the Pacific Islands pleasure seeing you on my recent visit to Majuro and that I could not stay longer, I was very happy that so well in spite of that rough trip on the Ralik Ratuk. I appreciate your trying to straighten out the land owner problem at Utirik in regard to the use of the AEC buildings for school purposes in addition to our use for surveys. I hope that you will be able to straighten this out soon through the top Iroj. While in Honolulu I brought this subject up with the AEC there and they have no objections to this, and have agreed to let the agreement regarding AEC use of the buildings at Utirik remain as previously. They have also agreed to furnish two 5 KW Diesel generators for our use during the Utirik surveys and they will be shipped to Kwajalein in the near future. I would like for them to be held there until such time as you have received the final okay on school use of the buildings. I would then appreckte it if you will arrange to have the two generators transported on one of the ships and off loaded at Utirik. They can then be used for school purposes in the interim between surveys. I think I have laid the necessary ground work for the return of the 4 Marshallese patients and Sebio as interpreter. The final dates of their travel will depend on how soon in May you are able to get Namiko Kalae and George Anjin to Ebeye, It should be no trouble getting Ilio Boaz to come from Rong Rong school with Sebio. Murph Ownby and John Iaman are wellacquainted with these plans. When you have any information in regard to the above plans I appreciate hearing from you,
