Nevertheless, as agreed upon by Mra H«H0 Zoch9 I an enclosing a map showing the sampling locations and the measuring results* The geometric mean is about 4 pCi pr» cm , and we estimate that the maximum plutonium fallout outside the hot area is of the order of 10 curi es. 3 snow samples collected from the watersupply lake and 5 snow samples collected along the road from the watersupply lake to Thule A * 3 * with a distance of 1 mile between sample locations did not show any alpha-activity. 4 snow samples from the base area, 1 snow sample from Dundas and 1 snow sample from Qanac did not contain plutonium. All the above mentioned snowsampling was done on the old snow surface. Investigations of new drift snow from the area west of the hot area indicated an activity correspending to 1 nilliI will keep you informed about our progress concerning other types of samples and I am looking forward to meet you again.
