Archive description
A macro-examination was performed on two split ruptured slugs form pt-313-105-19m which was a test designed to compare pile behavior of triple dipped canned uranium slugs machined at fernald to slugs of symonds production metal. The ruptures were examined to obtain cating lot numbers and to determine the cuase of the failure. The slugs examined were failures number 279 and 283 discharged from the 100 c pile in october 1953.
