INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, PACIFIC AREA SUPPORT OFFICE AND THE TRUST TERRITORY OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS The United States Department of Energy, Pacific Area Support Office (hereinafter referred i o as "DOE/FASO") and the Trilst Territory of the Pacific Islands (hereinafter referred toas the "TTPI") desire t o enter into an agreement superseding the 1974 agreement between the U.S. Atomic Energy Conunission and the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, whereby the DOE will provide reintbursenient for certain costs incurred by the TTPI under TTPI Public Law No. 7-116, entitled "Trust Territory Fallout Therefore, DOE/PASO hereby agrees t o provide funds i n an amount not t o exceed $30,000 per annum, as reimbursement t o the T T P I for costs incurred, subject t o the following terms and conditions: 1. The term of this agreement shall run from October 1 , 1978 through September 30, 1979, subject t o extensions mutually agreed t o by the pblcties or their successors.

2. The estimated cost under t h i s agreement i s $30,000 per annum and payments hereunder shall notin the aggregate a t any time exceed this amount unless mutually agreed. for actual costs incurred. Reimbursement will be made quarterly hereunder shall be limited t o expenditures incurred by the TTPI i n accordance with the following provisions. I t is expressly understood and agreed that DOE/PASO’s reimbursement a. This Agreement shall be without effect until : (1) DOE shall have agreed in writing as t o the nature and type of illness to which i t applies, and (2) Appropriate rules and regulations shall have been promulgated by the TTPI as provided for i n Section 9 of PL No. 7-116. b. Reimbursement shall be provided only for persons on the roster of the Brookhavetl National Laboratory and s h a l l include only exposed persons and designated control persons (Encl ) . Others may be covered on a case by case b a s i s as determined by Brookhaven National Laboratory physi ci ans. Reinrbursement shall be made for the followi,ng classes of

Transportation for the patient and escort a s defined (2) Transportation by air t o a n d between Majuro and Ebeye ( 3 ) Payments of $2.00 per day per patient f o r incidental I expenses while an inpatient. (4) Payments of $10.00 per day for escorts and f o r patients while on outpatient status.
